Reading in STEM Night with Koding Kids
Overview:
The Reading in STEM Night is a special event designed to engage students and their families in interactive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities with a focus on reading and coding. The event will feature hands-on learning activities using the Koding Kids curriculum, as well as a variety of other interactive stations that integrate reading, coding, and other STEM disciplines.
Objectives:
1. To encourage students and parents to explore the connections between reading, coding, and other STEM disciplines.
2. To provide hands-on learning experiences for students and their families.
3. To foster a sense of community among students, parents, teachers, and school staff.

8 - 12 Weeks Before the Event:

4 - 6 Weeks Before the Event:
Confirm the final budget for the event.
Order or purchase any necessary materials and supplies.
Confirm the final schedule and the list of volunteers for the event.
Send a reminder about the event to students and parents, and request RSVPs to get an estimate of the number of attendees.
2 - 4 Weeks Before the Event:
Hold a meeting with all volunteers to review their roles and responsibilities, and to discuss the setup and operation of each activity.
Confirm the final details with Koding Kids, including the number of attendees, the schedule, and any special requirements.
Confirm the arrangements for refreshments, including any necessary permits or approvals.
1 - 2 Weeks Before the Event:
Send a final reminder to students and parents, including the schedule of activities and any other important information.
Confirm the final arrangements for the setup and cleanup of the event, including the arrival time for volunteers.
Day Before the Event:
Set up the event space, including the arrangement of tables, chairs, and activity stations.
Test all equipment and materials to ensure they are in working order.
Confirm the final details with all volunteers, including their arrival times and assignments.
Day of the Event:
Arrive early to complete any final setup and to ensure that all stations are ready for operation.
Hold a brief meeting with all volunteers to review their assignments and to address any last-minute questions or concerns.
Greet attendees as they arrive and provide them with a schedule of activities and a map of the event space.
